Playing him constantly when he's miles off ready will damage his development more than giving him 20 mins off the bench most weeks.

I hate both options tbh but Beto is still the superior player, he has had spells of looking like a decent player but I think we just have to accept the long spells in-between where he is absolute garbage.

Just playing Barry regardless of his impact isn't doing him any favours.

The difference is game state.

Beto thrives in chaos, thrives in space. He can be a great option off the bench. He can't lead a line. He's 28 and can't do it. He'll be leaving the club in the summer, why persist?

Barry will not develop on the bench. Doesn't matter what your argument is, he goes nowhere on the bench.

Play him and develop him.

I'm not saying 100% of the time play him and never sub him and never drop gim. Obv caveat is the manager will know when to pull him out. But we have to find a way to get him minutes to develop him, for him and us.
