Two Uptown Grocery locations in OKC metro to become FRESH by Reasor's stores
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Two Uptown Grocery locations in the Oklahoma City metro will be converted to FRESH by Reasor's stores following an agreement on Monday between Brookshire Grocery Co. (BGC) and Uptown Grocery Co.
Brookshire Grocery Co. will be acquiring the Uptown Grocery locations in The Village and Edmond and changing them into FRESH by Reasor's stores. A short closing will begin on Wednesday, October 22, at 7 p.m., to convert each location, with the expectation of having them open the following week.
“We are thrilled to have this opportunity to introduce our FRESH store with our exceptional service to The Village and Edmond communities,” said Brad Brookshire, Chairman and CEO for Brookshire Grocery Co. “At FRESH, we offer far more than a typical grocery experience. From our award-winning dry-aged beef program to restaurant-quality, chef-prepared meals, every detail reflects our commitment to excellence. Alongside everyday essentials, we’re expanding our product offerings which will include adding in beer and wine to further enhance the shopping experience. These new stores represent a bold step in our company’s growth journey and stand as a testament to our mission: to create and deliver exceptional experiences and lasting value for our customers, guided by our core values.”
After they reopen as FRESH by Reasor's stores, they will undergo a remodel process that will bring new features and expanded food selections for customers.
The locations will feature dozens of chef-prepared entrees, authentic Japanese ramen and Vietnamese pho counters, a taco bar, brick-oven Neapolitan-style pizza, an artisan bakery, dry-aged beef, a full-service meat and seafood counter, a charcuterie and cheese selection, fresh produce with a large variety of organics, and a full-service floral shop, according to the press release.
But wait, there's more! Each store location will also feature a coffee bar, handcrafted gelato, patio dining, an outdoor cafe, live music, and on-site parks with playgrounds for children.
Both acquired locations are said to offer employment opportunities to qualified employees who are currently working at those stores, while also planning to hire more than 40 new employee-partners at each store to compensate for the expanded offerings.
They will be hiring for culinary, customer service, merchandising, and store operations. Hiring centers will open Monday, October 13, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will continue Tuesday through Friday, October 17, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Village store's center will be located at 9515 N. May Avenue, Oklahoma City, and Edmond's store center will be located at 2740 Feather Road, Oklahoma City.
