Where do WWE’s new stars come from? NXT
(NEXSTAR) - The journey for every WWE superstar has to start somewhere, right? And for many of the top wrestlers currently in the WWE, it all began on NXT.
In a WWE Performance Center based in Orlando, NXT houses the faces of the pro wrestlers of tomorrow, where they can learn to hone their craft and become the next generation of WWE superstars.
Each NXT wrestler trains and develops live on air in hopes of one day being called up to the big leagues at Smackdown or Raw.
NXT is also known in wrestling circles for its emphasis on in-ring action as opposed to WWE's more traditional story-driven matches.
Dating back to its inception in 2012 by Paul “Triple H” Levesque, the current WWE chief content officer, NXT has cranked out tons of elite athletes who have gone on to become WWE royalty. Champions like Roman Reigns, Becky Lynch, and Seth Rollins all started their careers at NXT, just to name a few. Check out the new video above for a better look at how NXT helps launch the next generation of stars.
You can watch the future champions of WWE every Tuesday on the CW, or stream it on the CW's website the next day.
