You Could Have Used Sunglasses

Tim Curry: He used to come into the makeup trailer rather dazed and confused, because he was exhausted—he’d been watching TV all night.

Esther Hernandez: I’m making a stop-motion video for him for one of his songs, and it really just feels like a childlike pleasure that I really need in life.

Curry: But he was a very nice man, as opposed to most coke dealers, I imagine. You could have used sunglasses.

Hernandez: Oh, my gosh. It’s so true. Curry: But I live quite happily in my mind.

Hernandez: What do membership cooperatives look like instead of hierarchical spaces?

Curry: I don’t know. I was dumb enough not to care.

Hernandez: Mm-hmm

Curry: [Laughs] You could get away with anything, really.

Hernandez: And as soon as I stopped doing that, I just started to feel better in my body, to be honest, more calm.

Hernandez: I do. Why not? Yeah. Yes and no.

Curry: That was tantalizing.
