Hurricane Melissa made landfall Tuesday in Jamaica as a catastrophic Category 5 storm, one of the strongest Atlantic hurricanes in history. Jamaican authorities urged people to seek shelter and stay indoors as a storm surge of up to 13 feet (4 meters) is anticipated across southern Jamaica, and winds are expected to reach 185 mph (295 kph).
