AUSTIN (KXAN) — No. 4 Lake Travis clobbered Akins 48-0, and Vandegrift thumped Westwood 43-0 in high school football action Friday in Central Texas.
Bowie assured itself a postseason berth with a 34-7 win over Austin High, slotting the Bulldogs as the fourth-place team in District 26-6A. Westlake ran over Del Valle 71-7.
Round Rock and Stony Point scored a lot of points, but the Dragons pulled away in the second half to win 66-38. College Station upended Weiss 35-31, handing the Wolves their second district loss heading into next week's tilt with undefeated Anderson on Thursday.
Georgetown rolled up 50 on Lake Belton in a 50-40 victory, and Cedar Park pounded Leander 46-7.
Cedar Creek picked up its first win of the season 35-28 over Kyle Lehman. Wimberley lit up the scoreboard for 84 points, roaring past Smithville 84-26.
In an odd coincidence, two games Friday were postponed due to the field lights malfunctioning. Bastrop and Pflugerville will play at 1 p.m. Saturday after the lights went out in Bastrop, and Lampasas and Marble Falls will play at noon Saturday in Lampasas.
