Jelly Roll Picked for Major Concert Honor

0

Jelly Roll is taking his act north of the border in 2026, and the "I Am Not Okay" singer is set to headline a new music festival while he's up there.

On Monday, the Outskirts Music Festival announced the lineup for its inaugural event at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The nine-hour show is set for June 26, 2026.

"Set on the edge of Saskatoon, Outskirts Music Festival blends wide-open skies with boundary-pushing sound," says the concert's official website. "This genre-defying live experience brings together some of the biggest artists in the world and local talent in an asphalt-to-anthem setting…loud and legendary!"

Jelly Roll, who toured Canada earlier this year and will also play Dauphins Country Fest in Manitoba next June, is set to headline the new festival.

Jelly Roll leads lineup

While Jelly Roll is the headliner, the Outskirts Music Festival also features several other notable artists, including American acts Third Eye Blind and Brayden King and Canadian performers Cooper Allan and Wide Mouth Mason.

“Getting a lineup like this together takes a lot of time, and logistics around the site and the production and the stage and everything that goes into curating a world class music festival,” SaskTel Centre CEO John Howden said in a press release, via CKOM 650.

Howden added that the facility is "really excited" about the showcase, which he anticipates will "bring back the energy and exceptional moments of Saskatoon’s legendary concerts."

As the headlining act, Jelly Roll will perform last, from approximately 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Tickets for the first-ever Outskirts Music Festival will go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday, Dec. 5.

2026 shaping up nicely for Jelly Roll

Last month, Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, learned he had been nominated for three 2026 Grammy Awards: Best Contemporary Country Album, Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song.

The "Save Me" singer expressed his gratitude in a heartfelt Instagram video, in which he also showed off a new beardless look.

“When I look at these nominations, all I see is God,” Jelly Roll said in the clip. “I want to cry. Wow, country album of the year. It’s not even about the album or the nom. It’s about the name.”

In 2023, Jelly Roll won three Grammys--Male Video of the Year, Male Breakthrough Video of the Year and CMT Digital-First Performance of the Year--for his song "Son of a Sinner."
