UMass is latest offer for 2026 guard
BY ZACH SMART
A defensive minded guard who routinely tasks himself with neutralizing high scoring threats, Class of 2026 Marcus Zelee was offered by UMass tonight.
A high wired, hard finishing guard for ASAK 3SSB, Zelee has been hearing from Arizona State as of late.
Zelee de-committed from Iowa State over the summer, re-opening his recruitment and wide open with all potential future hardwood homes.
“The (UMass) offer means a lot because I think Frank Martin is a great coach,” said Zelee.
“He makes you work for everything, and that’s how I want it to be. I’m an energy guy. I love being that energy guy. It doesn’t matter if its a 4AM practice or a big game. UMass would allow me to be a dog. I think they like how I play 94 feet and constantly guard up.”
Playing off two feet and carving his way to the rim, Zelee is buoyed by an all around scoring repertoire.
He’s become more of a creator on the OTE circuit this season, making the right reads and locating guys in space and where they operate best.
