Red Sox Reportedly Have ‘Regularly’ Been In Contact With Slugger

The Boston Red Sox reportedly have been in contact with plenty of big names at MLB’s Winter Meetings.

Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow has been consistently connected to the likes of Ketel Marte, Bo Bichette, Alex Bregman, Pete Alonso and Kyle Schwarber, with some recent additions including Isaac Paredes, Brendan Donovan and Corey Seager.

It’s time to update those lists, folks!

Eugenio Suarez has been in regular contact with the club this offseason, according to Tim Healey and Alex Speier of The Boston Globe.

Suarez, 34, slashed .228/.298/.526 and belted a career-high-tying 49 home runs and 118 RBIs with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Seattle Mariners in 2025.

The Red Sox could choose to play him at third base (his traditional position) or first base depending on how their roster looks at the conclusion of the offseason — though they’ll think long and hard about his numbers nose-diving following his movement at the trade deadline before offering any significant money.
