Silver surged to fresh record highs on Monday. The March futures contract jumped 5.7% to Rs 2,54,174 per kg on the MCX, crossing the Rs 2.50 lakh mark for the first time ever. The rally extended globally as silver briefly breached $80 per ounce before retreating amid volatile trade.
