Skating Iconic Hollywood Filming Locations With the Dern Brothers (Video)
You could argue that skateboarding and film have always gone hand in hand, and the Dern Bros recently put that connection front and center in their latest YouTube edit. This one is rad!
In their latest video, Dalton, Destin, Kanaan and special guest Tony Cervantes set out with one mission in mind—skate some spots they discovered while watching classic movies.
The result? Well, they hit up some iconic LA spots from those classic movies that might surprise some of you... and even turned one famous Hollywood filming location into a gnarly one-time-only spot. Dive in:
All the Back to the Future stuff at Whittier High was pretty rad. Some of you might have already connected those dots before, but I'd bet plenty of others have not. Regardless, having Tony Cervantes there (at his alma mater) was the icing on the cake.
That hubba has been destroyed by some of the best in the game. But it's that Jeremy Wray section from The Reason—where he gets to skate the ledge as long as he paints it—that got me fired up. Skate history meets film history. Can't beat that!

But they obviously saved the best for last! Seeing Dalton Dern take the plunge into the LA River—the same one the Terminator himself blasts off on his Harley in Terminator 2: Judgement Day—was by far the highlight, as far as I'm concerned.
From the research to the logistics to actually skating the spot, I'd say Dalton and the Dern brothers truly outdid themselves this time. That drop was no joke. And he did it twice! Ha.
That's a proper NBD, to say the least. And I love how they threw in some BTS clips of the actual stunt from the movie. I don't know about you, but I'm tossing on Terminator 2 tonight.
What else can I say? These Dern Bros videos keep getting better. Hats off to Dalton for taking the plunge. Shoutout to Tony for some classic Whittier High stories. And cheers to these wild brothers for keeping us all entertained. Hasta la vista, baby!
