Jaishankar’s remarks come as India and Bangladesh began discussions on Thursday to renew the Ganges Water Sharing Treaty, set to expire in December 2026, 30 years after signing. Officials told The Times of India that both sides started measuring water levels in the Ganga and Padma rivers.
