Trump Threatens to Invoke Insurrection Act in Minnesota, a Law Dating Back to 1792
Donald Trump is telling the citizens of the United States that he’s considering using the Insurrection Act.
The law dates back centuries and would allow the 79-year-old to deploy United States troops to Minnesota in response to the protests happening there. By the way, the act was first passed in 1792.

“If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E., who are only trying to do their job, I will institute the INSURRECTION ACT, which many Presidents have done before me, and quickly put an end to the travesty that is taking place in that once great State. Thank you for you [sic] attention to this matter!” he posted on Truth Social on Thursday (January 15).
This comes after the tragic death of Renee Good, who was shot by an ICE agent earlier this month. Many celebrities condemned the shooting, but some are still supporting ICE.
