One person killed in two-car crash on Eisenhower in Oak Park
Two cars collided on the Eisenhower Expressway in the western suburbs early Sunday and one person died after being ejected from one of the vehicles, according to Illinois State Police.
A Jeep and a Saturn crashed just before 3 a.m. in the westbound lanes on I-290 near Home Avenue in Oak Park, according to state police. The person who was ejected from one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person was injured and taken to a nearby hospital. State police did not report their condition.
All westbound lanes were shut down until 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, police said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
