Tottenham consider sacking Thomas Frank as head coach

Tottenham Hotspur are considering dismissing Thomas Frank as head coach following an underwhelming 2025-26 campaign so far. 

According to BBC Sport, at least one member of the club’s executive team has actively raised the option of sacking the Dane in recent weeks. 

Tottenham wanted to be more patient with Frank, given the incomplete football infrastructure and the many of his best forwards missing. 

But the atmosphere at the club has turned increasingly toxic after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat against relegation threatened West Ham United. 

Cristian Romero levelled the scores in the 64th minute after Crysencio Summerville’s first-half opener at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. 

But Callum Wilson bundled home a stoppage-time winner. 

That led the home supporters to turn on their own manager as they directed ‘sacked in the morning’ chants towards him. 

Tottenham face a crucial Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

Frank must lead his team to victory against the Bundesliga outfit, otherwise the club’s hierarchy could end his reign in North London. 

The Danish boss replaced Ange Postecoglou as Spurs’ manager in June. 

The club backed him well in the previous Premier League transfer window, bringing in the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani. 

But despite significant investments on new signings, the Lilywhites have endured a disappointing season so far. 

They are languishing in 14th place in the English league, having won just seven of their 22 matches this term. 

Tottenham crashed out of the FA Cup after losing 2-1 to Aston Villa last week, while their Carabao Cup journey ended in October following a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United. 

Although they still have a chance to qualify for the Champions League knockouts, as they are currently 11th in the table.
