Bradley Walsh Breaks Silence On Strictly Come Dancing Hosting Rumours
Bradley Walsh is seemingly taking himself out of the running to host Strictly Come Dancing when it returns to our screens later this year.
Towards the end of 2025, Strictly staples Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced that they’d be stepping away from the show when the most recent series came to an end, and ever since then, Bradley has repeatedly been named in the press as a rumoured successor.
In November, The Sun claimed that Bradley was being “lined up” by BBC bosses to take over the Strictly presenting job, and he was later included on a shortlist of 10 names supposedly in consideration for the gig published by the tabloid.
However, when asked about this during an interview with Radio Times, he seemed less enthused.
The Chase host claimed: “Here’s a potted version of my winter weekends. I come home from the studio on a Friday, have dinner and watch I’m A Celebrity.
“On Saturday, I’ll watch the football results, have dinner and a pint, watch Strictly, then I’m A Celebrity, and flip back to the BBC for Match Of The Day.”
He continued: “On Sunday I get up late, watch some Columbo, then the football, followed by the Strictly results, then I’m A Celebrity, and then Match Of The Day.
“If I was to host Strictly, it would absolutely ruin my weekend.”
Brad isn’t the only star to have poured water on rumours about him taking over the vacant slots left by Tess and Claudia’s exits.
Alan Carr and Amanda Holden were also named as a potential new presenting team for Strictly, but in separate interviews, they’ve claimed there’s no truth to the rumours, with the stand-up comic quipping: “You saw how sweaty I was in the [Celebrity Traitors] castle, imagine me live on a Saturday night coming down those stairs – people would slip in a pool of my sweat while doing the fandango.
“It’s lovely to be thought of, but it’s probably a bit too nerve-racking.”
