Valentino Garavani Dead at 93

Valentino Garavani has passed away at the age of 93.

The iconic Italian fashion designer died on Monday (January 19) at his home in Rome, Italy.

“Valentino Garavani passed away today at his Roman residence, surrounded by his loved ones,” his foundation said in an Instagram post. “The lying in state will be held at PM23 in Piazza Mignanelli 23 on Wednesday January 21st and Thursday January 22nd, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. The funeral will take place on Friday, January 23rd at the Basilica Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri, in Piazza della Repubblica 8 in Rome, at 11 am.”

If you don’t know, he retired from the brand after 50 years as creative director back in 2008. He opened the fashion house back in the 1960s.

After he stepped down, he still did, of course, make appearances at shows alongside celebrities. He was close with many famous faces, often seen out or on the red carpet alongside A-list talent.
