Russell Brand Granted Bail on Two Sexual Offense Charges

Russell Brand has been granted bail after appearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court via video link from his Florida home on Tuesday (January 20) in relation to two further charges: one count of rape and one count of sexual assault, which are alleged to have taken place in London in 2009, according to published reports.

During the brief hearing, the actor spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth, reports said.

Russell has denied earlier allegations and previously faced five charges—two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, and one count of indecent assault—relating to alleged incidents involving four women reported to have occurred between 1999 and 2005.

He is next due to appear at Southwark Crown Court on February 17.

In December, Russell shared his opinion on his ex-wife Katy Perry‘s relationship with former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau.
