Dismissed by democracy watchdogs: Myanmar pro-military party declares victory in junta-run polls

Myanmar's pro-military Union Solidarity and Development Party said on Monday it had secured a majority in junta-run elections, a vote dismissed by critics as a tightly controlled exercise to entrench army rule five years after the coup.
