OPAP Cyprus begins rebranding as Allwyn
OPAP Cyprus has officially began operating under the Allwyn brand, marking the start of a new phase in the company’s development and growth, according to an official announcement released on Monday.
The rebranding represents a strategic shift in identity, placing the upgrade of the customer entertainment experience at the centre of the company’s priorities.
The transition to Allwyn follows an announcement made in December 2025 that OPAP Cyprus would align more closely with its international parent group, adopting its global commercial name.
The company said the move signals the start of a new era that will bring enhanced experiences, more entertainment options, and additional surprises for customers in Cyprus.
An integrated redesign plan is being implemented, focusing on improved offerings and the overall upgrade of the retail store network.
The rebranding of physical stores will take place gradually throughout 2026, according to the company.
OPAP Cyprus said adopting the modern and international Allwyn identity is intended to support its broader evolution and strengthen its connection with customers.
Particular emphasis is being placed on younger generations, whose expectations and habits are continuing to evolve.
The company stressed that while the commercial name is changing, the DNA and heritage of OPAP Cyprus remain unchanged.
The names and identities of popular games including Tzoker, Lotto and Kino will remain the same and continue to operate as before.
The company said these games will continue to evolve responsibly while delivering familiar entertainment experiences.
OPAP Cyprus said its commitment to social contribution will remain unchanged and will be further strengthened under the Allwyn brand.
Initiatives in health, sport, education, culture and support for vulnerable social groups will continue and expand.
The company confirmed that player protection remains a top priority, supported by a comprehensive responsible gaming framework.
Sports sponsorship activities will continue at full pace, with OPAP Cyprus also benefiting from Allwyn’s international partnerships.
These include Allwyn’s global sponsorships in Formula 1 and its partnership with the McLaren team.
Allwyn is a multinational entertainment and gaming group focused on lotteries, holding leading positions and trusted brands across Europe and North America.
The group has been active in Greece and Cyprus since 2013, following its investment in OPAP.
Allwyn said it places strong emphasis on innovation, technology and player protection, while increasing resources directed towards social causes.
Speaking at the December 2025 presentation of the rebranding strategy, Alexandros Davos said the company’s footprint in Cyprus forms a strong base for the future.
“The company and its network of partners have left a significant footprint in the market, forming an integral part of the Cypriot economy and society,” he said.
“This legacy is a strong foundation for the future, which will bring the company even closer to its international family through new investments, growth opportunities and best practices,” he added.
The transition comes after the merger of Allwyn and OPAP, announced in October 2025.
That transaction created a global gaming group valued at €16 billion, combining OPAP’s presence in Greece and Cyprus with Allwyn’s expanding international portfolio.
OPAP Cyprus said the move to the Allwyn name reflects the group’s new global scale, while preserving its local character and longstanding ties to Cypriot society.
