A fast-track court in Baripada has handed a 38-year-old man a 20-year rigorous imprisonment sentence for a 2022 rape. Found guilty of wrongful restraint, assault, and rape, the convict will also pay a Rs 10,000 fine. The court emphasized compensation for the survivor, recommending Rs 2 lakh.
