Herzliya's municipality said that it canceled the event, dedicated to the famed Palestinian director and actor Mohammad Bakri, because the venue is prohibited from renting its hall for 'political purposes.' The municipality added that it opposes 'statements Bakri made in the final decades of his life against Israel and IDF soldiers'
