Elderly woman hit and killed by driver in Millbrae

MILLBRAE – A driver hit and killed a 90-year-old woman Monday in Millbrae, authorities said.

The collision happened shortly before 3 p.m. in the 500 block of Richmond Drive, near Taylor Middle School, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived to find the woman suffering from serious injuries.

The woman was taken to an area hospital, where she later died from her injuries, authorities said.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to the sheriff’s office.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, but authorities said it does not appear alcohol or drugs played a role.
