Why I Love this Blanton's Bourbon Package
Not that long ago you could walk into any good liquor store and buy a bottle of Blanton's Bourbon. The single-barrel whiskey was created by legendary distiller Elmer T. Lee and was introduced in 1984. The premium expression helped start the recent American whiskey boom. Up until that point, bottling one barrel of bourbon at a time wasn't a common practice. Imbibers like Blanton's because you can see the differences that each cask has on the whiskey. As a result, no two batches of Blanton's are exactly the same.

Fast forward to today and tracking down a bottle of Blanton's Bourbon takes a good amount of work. The now highly sought-after whiskey is allocated and isn't available everywhere. And when you can find it, expect to pay top dollar!
And for the top shelf, Blanton's makes several even harder to find and more expensive expressions, including the so-called Blanton's Red Bourbon. The whiskey is made for the Japanese market and has a slightly different flavor profile from the original Blanton's Bourbon. This is a real collector's bourbon!
