Germany Urges Citizens to Leave Iran Over Security Risks

Germany has urged its citizens to leave Iran, warning rapidly changing security conditions and risks of detention, unrest, and regional escalation soon.

Germany’s Foreign Ministry warned that security conditions in Iran could deteriorate rapidly and urged German citizens to leave the country if possible.

The ministry said risks of arbitrary detention remain serious and noted that Germany’s embassy in Tehran can currently provide only limited consular services.

The advisory described the situation in Iran and the broader region as highly unstable, warning of possible military escalation, flight cancellations, or airspace closures.

German citizens were advised to avoid demonstrations, follow security instructions, and exercise caution when photographing sensitive or damaged sites.

The warning also referenced past protests and violent crackdowns, along with internet disruptions that complicated communication and travel inside the country.

Several countries have recently issued similar travel advisories amid rising tensions and concerns about safety and mobility in Iran.

Officials urge citizens still in the country to monitor developments closely and prioritize safe departure options as conditions remain unpredictable.
