Trump Says US-Iran Talks Going Well, More Meetings Expected
President Donald Trump says talks with Iran are progressing well, with further negotiations planned as both sides test chances for nuclear agreement.
US President Donald Trump said Washington held “very good” talks with Iran and that additional negotiations are scheduled for early next week.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said Iran appears serious about reaching a deal and indicated Tehran is willing to go further than in previous negotiations.
However, Trump warned Iran would face severe consequences if no agreement is reached over its nuclear program, though he declined to provide details.
Trump also said the United States is not in a hurry to secure a deal, noting that past negotiations in other conflicts required patience.
The latest comments come after Iran and the United States held a first round of negotiations in Oman, with both sides agreeing to continue diplomatic engagement.
Washington has also increased its military presence in the Middle East in recent months amid regional tensions and pressure related to Iran’s nuclear activities.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi described the opening talks as constructive but stressed deep mistrust remains a major challenge for future progress.
