Louisiana bill proposes raising autopsy age for sudden child deaths

Current law requires coroners to perform an autopsy in all cases in which the child who died unexpectedly was under the age of 1. Senate Bill 29, authored by Sen. Patrick McMath (R-Covington), proposes expanding the requirement to children under 15.
