Jeffrey Epstein Wasn’t An Evil Genius, He Was Just A Narcissistic Manipulator

0

One of the issues with all the Jeffrey Epstein conspiracies (or talk of a secret code in his emails) is that they miss a critical point. Epstein most likely wasn’t some super genius or villain. He was a narcissist with money who liked control.

When a close friend asked him why he was the way he was. Why the girls? Why the control? He didn’t reference some grand ideology or secret mission. He told her to read a book. It was The Man From O.R.G.Y., a trashy 1965 James Bond knockoff about a con man who poses as a sex researcher to spy for the government.

Rebuilt cover art for the pulp fiction book that inspired Epstien.

His friends admitted he had no attention span and no actual knowledge of science. He just had money, and money made people listen.

He was a narcissist with money who liked control.

As James Marriott recently wrote in The Times:

They will never believe it about themselves but sometimes the super-rich are as undeserving and talentless as the rest of us.

And later in the essay:

I don’t think it follows that making money turns you into a modern Socrates. The Epstein files remind us not only of the corruption but also the hollowness of our elite.

And even Epstein “making money” doesn’t prove genius — it proves manipulation. His fortune wasn’t built on financial wizardry. It was tied to questionable deals with Leslie Wexner, possible intelligence ties, and a skill for exploiting people’s vulnerabilities. He started out claiming to be a “bounty hunter” tracking down embezzlers. Then Ghislaine Maxwell gave him access to high society, and he turned that access into an industry of underage exploitation. That’s not brilliance. That’s a predator who found the right doors unlocked.

And for all those people who think he was talking in code or hiding some masterplan, just consider the banality of this: Epstein wasn’t even embarrassed about the nickname given to his Boeing 727, “The Lolita Express.” According to a close friend interviewed by Mother Jones, he kept copies of Lolita on display across multiple homes. Not hidden. On the table. More than one copy. He thought it was funny.

So before you fall into a k-hole of thinking there was some massive masterplan spun up by some mathematical genius, maybe just consider that Jeffrey Epstein was a morally bankrupt narcissist, and the bigger conspiracy is that someone so bankrupt could function so long in our culture without getting caught.
