Man Utd are "seriously considering" move for £17.5m star, 14 assists this season

0

Manchester United are ‘seriously considering’ a summer move for Borussia Dortmund right-back Julian Ryerson, according to German outlet BILD.

The Red Devils presently have Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui as their right-back options. The former has been an undisputed starter under interim manager Michael Carrick.

Mazraoui has been linked with a move to Serie A this year, and there is a possibility that United may contemplate a change in the department ahead of next season.

Amidst this, BILD claim that the Red Devils are ‘seriously considering’ a move for Ryerson, who has been a revelation from right wing-back for Dortmund this campaign.

The right-back is reportedly valued at around £17.5 million. It is added that the Red Devils could be willing to increase his salary, which stands at £4.4m per year.

Dortmund are reluctant to part ways with their prized asset this summer, but there is an acceptance that his departure could help them improve their finances too.

The Bundesliga outfit will make a decision if they receive a formal approach from United or other suitors. Newcastle United and Barcelona are likewise admirers of him.

Ryerson speculation could be agent-driven

The Norwegian ace has had a superb 2025/26 season with Dortmund. He has accumulated 14 assists from 30 appearances across all competitions for the German giants.

Ryerson has flourished after moving into the right wing-back role under manager Niko Kovac. He recently bagged all four assists in the 4-0 rout of Mainz in the Bundesliga.

Unsurprisingly, he has been linked with United after his first-class showing. We still believe the speculation is agent-driven, who is capitalising on his client’s fine season.

Dalot has shown signs of improvement in recent months and has generally been the regular right-back. In Mazraoui, United have a solid competitor in the current squad.

If Mazraoui were to push for an exit, the Red Devils are more likely to pursue a Premier League-based solution rather than someone abroad, who may need time to adapt.

Brentford’s Michael Kayode would be a perfect acquisition. The Italian ace has one of the best long throws in the game and would provide a different set-piece threat.

The Fiorentina graduate has huge potential and would be an upgrade on Dalot.
