India's fifth major expressway, the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra route, will be ready by March 2027. This project significantly cuts travel time between Delhi and Katra to six hours. It connects Sri Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar and Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. The expressway will also aid faster military movement near the International Border. Construction faced delays but has now regained momentum.
