Sean Penn Wins Best Supporting Actor at Actor Awards 2026, But Misses the Show

Sean Penn is one step closer to becoming a three-time Oscar winner.

The 65-year-old actor won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role at the 2026 Actor Awards, previously known as the SAG Awards, on Sunday (March 1) at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Sean was not in attendance at the awards show and presenter Allison Janney accepted the prize on his behalf.

Sean won the award for his performance in One Battle After Another and he’s also nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars. After also winning at last weekend’s BAFTAs, it appears he is the frontrunner to win the Oscar.

If you didn’t know, Sean previously won the Best Actor award at the Oscars in 2004 for Mystic River and 2009 for Milk. This is his first nomination in 17 years.
