Nancy Guthrie Update: Savannah Guthrie Makes 1 Request
Savannah Guthrie, sister Annie and brother-in-law Tommaso Cioni were seen walking arm-in-arm to lay flowers on a memorial dedicated to her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie. The Today show host's 84-year-old mother was last seen on Jan. 31 before allegedly being taken from her home.
As the trio surveyed the many gifts and signs left by members of the community, they broke down in tears before sharing an embrace as seen in video footage taken by NewsNation.
According to the outlet, Savannah and her loved ones left a note for their mother, which read: "Momma, we miss you so much! Our hearts are broken. We are standing on ash, on scored earth! But Mom, though we are surrounded by so much darkness and uncertainty, our love burns bright. We love you Mommy. We miss you so much. Our best friend!!"
Savannah Guthrie Shares New Message on Social Media
After leaving the memorial, Guthrie took to social media with a new message – and a request.
"We feel the love and prayers from our neighbors, from the Tucson community and from around the country," she said in a new message on Instagram before making her one request: keep the prayers coming.
"Please don’t stop praying and hoping with us," she said before ending the caption with her familier refrain of "Bring her home."
Guthrie Family Offering $1 Million Reward
It's a rare post from Guthrie, who typically only posts to update the family's monetary reward for information leading to the whereabouts of her mother. The family recently updated its reward to $1 million.
"We still believe in a miracle. We still believe that she can come home," she said in a video at the time. "We also know she may be lost. She may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the Lord that she loves and is dancing in heaven with her mom and her dad and with her beloved brother.
"But we need to know where she is. We need her to come home. For that reason, we are offering a family reward of $1 million for any information that leads to her recovery."
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Pima County Sheriff's Department have not identified a potential suspect.
