Teen arrested over Limassol car arson

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a car arson that occurred on February 25, 2026, in Limassol, police said on Tuesday.

According to police, at around 2.40am on February 25 a fire broke out in a vehicle belonging to a 28-year-old woman while it was parked in the car park of a residential building in the Limassol district.

The blaze destroyed the vehicle and caused damage to the building’s walls.

During the investigation, testimony emerged implicating the 17-year-old, who was arrested early on Tuesday under a court warrant and taken into custody.

A 32-year-old man had previously been arrested in connection with the case. He was later released pending the completion of police investigations, after a six-day detention order expired.
