Zendaya’s mom has a ‘laugh’ over claims of a secret Tom Holland wedding

0

Zendaya’s mother, Claire Stoermer of Oakland, is neither officially confirming nor denying a bombshell claim that her daughter recently married her fiance Tom Holland in secret.

But Stoermer’s reaction to the news — with a laughing emoji — is certainly sparking questions about whether a wedding had taken place and even whether her daughter’s longtime stylist Law Roach was just joking around when he said Sunday that the ceremony had “already happened,” Page Six reported.

On her Instagram Stories Monday, Stoermer reposted a clip of Roach talking to an Entertainment Tonight reporter at the 2026 Actor Awards Sunday, People reported. In the video, Roach said, “The wedding already happened,” teasing, “You missed it.”

When the reporter chimed in, citing reports that the 29-year-old “Dune” star had recently been seen wearing a gold wedding band, Law laughed and said, “The wedding is over, sorry.”

Stoermer cryptically captioned that clip, “The laugh,” People reported. She also added a laughing emoji.

People and other outlets said they have reached out to reps for Zendaya and Holland regarding the rumored wedding, but have not heard back.

Zendaya and Holland, also 29, more or less confirmed their engagement last year, after the “Euphoria” star was spotted wearing a diamond ring to the Golden Globes in January 2025, according to People. They have been romantically linked since they co-starred as love interests M.J. and Peter Parker/Spider-Man in  the 2017 film, “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” People reported.

The two will co-star again in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic-film adaptation of Homer’s “The Odyssey.” In the film, due for release in June, Holland stars as the son of Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, while Zendaya has the role of Athena, the goddess of wisdom.

In a 2021 interview with GQ, Holland said that sharing information about his and Zendaya’s personal lives wasn’t ideal for either of them.

“We sort of felt robbed of our privacy.” Holland said. Zendaya also has called such inquiries “quite strange and weird and confusing and invasive.”

Meanwhile, Zendaya has long enjoyed a reportedly close relationship with her parents, who were both Oakland school teachers and who let their preternaturally talented and ambitious daughter move to Los Angeles when she was around 12 or 13 so she could pursue a career as an entertainer.

Zendaya is the only child of Stoermer and her father, Kazembe Ajamu Coleman, while her father had five older children from a previous marriage. During Zendaya’s summers as a child in Oakland, her mother, a long-time teacher at Fruitvale Elementary School in Oakland, picked up extra work as the house manager of the former California Shakespeare Theater, in Orinda. The side benefit of this gig is that it gave the future movie star an early exposure to professional acting; Zendaya has talked about watching performances from the back of the house.

When Zendaya first sought to launch her career, she told Complex in 2015 that her father would drive them both back and forth to Los Angeles. Eventually, he moved with her to Los Angeles so she could work for the Disney Channel. He also left teaching to become her manager, according to People.

By 2015, Zendaya was “a mega-famous Disney actor and pop star on the rise,” Complex reported. But the Complex story  also credited Stoermer and Coleman with keeping the teen star “grounded.”
