Martin Short‘s daughter Katherine Short tragically passed away at the age of 42 last week, and now, her cause of death has been confirmed.

The 42-year-old passed away at her home in Los Angeles on Monday (February 23), and her death certificate has confirmed reporting on how she passed.

She died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, TMZ reports. Her death certificate also indicates she has been cremated.

Katherine was adopted by Martin and his late wife Nancy, who died in 2010. She is survived by Martin, as well as her younger brothers, Henry and Oliver.
