French President Emmanuel Macron announced on March 3rd the deployment of additional military resources, including the aircraft carrier Charles De Gaulle and its escort, to help protect his allies facing the consequences of the war in the Middle East. The flagship of the French fleet is interrupting its planned deployment in the North Atlantic to head for the Mediterranean.
