'This is Pure Cinema': 'Resident Evil Requiem' Fan Creates Hilarious Michael Jackson Mod
It's only been a few weeks since the release of Resident Evil Requiem, and the game's modding community has had a field day with the new title. From turning the monster Chunk into Shrek and Thomas the Tank Engine and turning Grace Ashcroft into her mother, Alyssa, there are a lot of enjoyable mods for the game already, but one involving Michael Jackson, in particular, is making its rounds on the internet.
Created by Foreverfield Mods on YouTube, the mod is called Michael Jackson Lickers, and it allows players to replace the sounds the Licker enemies make with the voice of the King of Pop himself. From archived interview footage to the legendary singer's iconic "hee-hee" lyric delivery.
Michael Jackson Lickers is available as a free download on Nexus Mods. Instructions on how to install the mod are also available.
During the gameplay demonstration, Foreverfield Mods navigates one of the final areas of the game as both Leon and Grace, one room of which has several Licker enemies, so there are several talking Michael Jacksons all at once. With the mod, Leon and Grace have to not only move stealthily but also avoid laughing at the absurdity.
Fan reactions to the mod have been positive, with many finding it humorous. "This is pure cinema," said YouTube user The Arbiter Kun.
Felix Leong on YouTube wrote, "Dr Victor Gideon: Hey! What's with the looks? Can't I be a Michael Jackson Fan too?" in response to how Requiem's antagonist would respond if all the Lickers in his lab sounded like Michael Jackson.
TheGameVerse on X also posted a clip from the mod that is getting a lot of attention. Amazon Luna on X responded to the clip, writing, "This is wild."
As Resident Evil Requiem ages, the mods will likely get more and more creative.
Resident Evil Requiem is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
