Kandi Burruss Reveals Advice She Gave Daughter Riley Burruss for Being On Reality TV

Kandi Burruss is sharing the advice she passed down on daughter Riley Burruss.

The 49-year-old Grammy winner previously starred on Real Housewives of Atlanta, where her now 23-year-old daughter made appearances. Now, Riley stars on another show, Next Gen NYC, which is also on Bravo.

While attending the 2026 ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood Awards this past week, Kandi revealed how she helped Riley with her own on-screen experience.

“Well, I just told her don’t be on there [and] say anything that you ain’t going to stand behind. You got to make sure you keep it honest on this show,” Kandi told People.

“And even if you say something they don’t like, just own it and keep it pushing,” she added. “Don’t let them rewind no tapes on you like how they do [with] people on the shows. We not doing that.”

Kandi also shared that she told her daughter to “keep it strong, confident, honest, and just… Hey, I know it’s going to be crazy, but we’ll deal with it as it comes.”
