Nightclub owner targeted in attempted murder

A 34-year-old man, reportedly the owner of a nightclub, was shot at multiple times early on Saturday morning in Protaras, but no injuries reported, police said.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight while the man was driving on Protaras Avenue near Cape Greco, several gunshots were fired towards him.

The perpetrators then entered a vehicle and fled the scene.

Around 30 minutes later, a car that had been left behind was discovered engulfed in flames on the Ayia Napa-Rizoelia road within the British bases. The car is thought to be connected to the case.

Investigations into the case are ongoing.
