European Aquatics Masters Open Water Swimming Tour 2026 Leg 2: bulletin now available and registration open on 20 April
European Aquatics has published the official bulletin for the second leg of the 2026 Masters Open Water Swimming Tour, set to take place on 24 July 2026 in Sukoro, Hungary, with registration opening on 20 April.
Organised by the Hungarian Swimming Federation, the second stage of the new three-leg Tour will unfold on the shores of Lake Velence, Hungary’s second-largest lake, at the state-of-the-art National Kayak Academy. Located just 50 kilometres from Budapest, the venue offers a high-performance environment for masters athletes, combining world-class facilities with the calm, controlled conditions of a purpose-built rowing course.
As with the opening leg, the programme will once again feature separate 3km races for men and women, with swimmers seeded in waves according to age group. Categories range from 20–24 through to 90+, reinforcing the inclusive and lifelong nature of masters competition. The course itself will consist of two laps of a 1.5km rectangular circuit, making for a more routine experience for the competitors.
On competition day, on-site registration will open at 11:30 and close shortly before the final wave, with the men’s race scheduled to begin at 13:30. The women’s race will follow at approximately 15:30, depending on the number of waves. Victory ceremonies will take place continuously after the conclusion of each event, with medals awarded to the top three finishers in every age category.
Registrations open on 20 April 2026 and close on 3 July 2026. Entries may be submitted directly by competitors via the official event platform (linked below), with participation open to all swimmers regardless of nationality, residence or club affiliation. The non-refundable entry fee is €50 (plus transaction fee). Accreditation will be issued upon arrival, and all participants must present a signed release of liability form.
Athletes are encouraged to secure accommodation early, with options available around Lake Velence, as well as in nearby Székesfehérvár and the western outskirts of Budapest. A dedicated parking area will be available for those travelling by car.
Participation in all three legs of the Masters Open Water Swimming Tour remains mandatory for swimmers aiming to feature in the final overall ranking, with points accumulated across the season. Following the opening leg in Cyprus, the Tour will continue in Hungary before concluding in Šamorín, Slovakia, which forms part of the European Aquatics Masters Championships.
