Nikki Glaser Looks Back at Being Eliminated First on 'DWTS,' Says It's 'One of the Most Humiliating Moments of My Life'

Nikki Glaser is looking back at her short time on Dancing with the Stars.

If you didn’t know, the 41-year-old comedian competed with pro partner Gleb Savchenko on season 27 of the ABC dance competition series in 2018.

Nikki ended up getting eliminated first, which she says is “one of the most humiliating moments of my life.”

Keep reading to find out more…“I was voted off Dancing with the Stars first when I did that show,” Nikki recalled on Armchair Expert. “I knew I couldn’t dance when I signed up for it, but I didn’t really know. It was almost like I’d never danced. So I was like, ‘Maybe I’m great and I’ll find out!’”

Nikki said that she had high hopes going into the show, since Gleb was “so great,” but ultimately, “one of the most humiliating moments of my life is getting voted off that show first.”

After implying that she didn’t care about winning, Nikki admitted that she was bummed she didn’t last longer in the competition.

“I did care, and they kind of warp your mind in there, because you don’t do anything except dance. Your whole life clears out,” she explained. “I got love bombed on that show aggressively, and then when I got voted off, I was crying to my friends like, ‘I just like miss dancing. I’m a dancer.’ And they’re like, ‘What the hell?’”

Nikki went on to say that she had just started to realize that she could “get good” right before she was eliminated. She also admitted that that struggled with the implications surrounding getting voted off the show.

“The other thing that hurt about it was that it wasn’t about just getting voted off because you’re a bad dancer,” she explained. “It’s about, ABC is developing talent, and they’re like, ‘Do we want to work with you? Does our audience like you?’ And they didn’t.”

Nikki characterized her elimination as “kind of like a rejection from America. Because America votes,” and in a way, so does “ABC as a corporation” and “the dancing community.”

She also claimed that ABC”forgot to invite me to the finale,” and she only returned to the ballroom for the final episode of the season because she asked to be the plus one of a friend still in competition on the show.

Still, Nikki said that she “would love to get back” on DWTS, before revealing that she has the perfect idea for a spinoff series.

“If they did a Dancing with the Stars losers season, where it was all people who got voted off first or second,” Nikki shared. “I would definitely do it again.”

It was recently announced that there is a Dancing with the Stars spinoff series in the works!
