In the present OEN article, I discuss the petinent work of the American Jesuit scholar Walter J. Ong (1912-2003; Ph.D. in English, Harvard University, 1955) of Saint Louis University, where, over the years, I took five courses from him, and I succinctly highlight the conservative author Christopher Caldwell's 2020 book The Age of Entitlement: America Since the Sixties (Simon and Schuster).
