How Many Masters Has Tiger Woods Won?

0

Tiger Woods, widely regarded as one of the greatest golfers to ever play the game, has won the Masters five times. Only Jack Nicklaus, with six victories, has won more green jackets in Augusta National history.

Woods first burst onto the Masters stage in 1995, finishing tied for 41st as the only amateur to make the cut. Two years later, everything changed. In 1997, at just 21 years old, he won his first green jacket by a stunning 12 strokes — the largest winning margin in Masters history — becoming the youngest champion Augusta had ever seen.

Tiger Woods' Five Masters Victories

1997 — Woods' first Masters title, won by 12 strokes over runner-up Tom Kite in one of the most dominant performances in major championship history. He was 21 years old.

2001 — His second green jacket, completing what became known as the "Tiger Slam" — holding all four major titles simultaneously across two seasons, the only player ever to do so.

2002 — Back-to-back Masters titles, making Woods only the third player in history to win consecutive Masters championships, joining Jack Nicklaus and Nick Faldo.

2005 — His fourth Masters title, won in a playoff over Chris DiMarco and remembered for one of the most iconic chip shots in golf history on the 16th hole.

2019 — Perhaps the most emotional of them all. At 43 years old, 14 years after his previous Augusta victory and following multiple back surgeries that had threatened his career, Woods won his fifth Masters title in one of the greatest comebacks in sports history.

Was Tiger Woods Planning to Play in the 2026 Masters?

Before Tiger Woods' latest rollover car accident and subsequent DUI arrest, there was a lot of speculation circulating around whether or not the golfer would make the Masters. After an appearance at the TGL Finals (where he garnered plenty of attention with girfriend Vanessa Trump), Woods was poised for another play, but mentioned that his body has good and bad days and his path toward the Masters wasn't exactly clear cut.
