S.C. jobless rate falls to 6.0% in August; Charleston area leads state with lowest rate

The number of people working in South Carolina continues to increase as the state’s jobless rate plummeted in August to 6.0 percent from 6.4 percent in July, its largest one-month decline since 1983.
