President Aquino leaves for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, this afternoon for his attendance to the 27th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and is expected to be back by Sunday night. It will be President Aquino’s last attendance to the ASEAN Summit as President of the Philippines. At the ASEAN Summit, President Aquino is expected to push for the full and effective implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea. “The Philippines cannot overemphasize the importance of ensuring the full and effective implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea, as well as the urgent need for Parties to conclude negotiations on the Code of Conduct.
