Germany may get exemptions from saver protection scheme: EU official

FRANKFURT, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Germany may be allowed to exempt the vast majority of its banks from a European plan to shield vulnerable European savers, according to an EU official, in the latest bid to establish the long-contested scheme.
