The Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws managed to charge their way to victory as they seize the UAAP Season 78 men’s basketball championship crown against the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers, ending the best-of-three finals game with a 67-62 finish, Wednesday afternoon at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena. Starting the game were FEU’s Alejandrino Iñigo, Ron Dennison, Prince Orizu, Russell Escoto, and Roger Pogoy who played against UST’s first five: Karim Abdul, Eduardo Daquioag, Jamil Sheriff, Louie Vigil, and Kevin Ferrer. FEU didn’t fail in their defense as they regain their men’s basketball championship title which they last claimed in 2005. The two teams’ last encounter for the UAAP men’s basketball championship was in 1979, wherein FEU emerged victorious.
