Justo antes de saltar a la hierba del All England Club, Rafa Jódar ha logrado una victoria muy importante en el J300 de Roehampton (Londres). Sin ceder ni una sola manga, el jugador madrileño del Chamartín se hizo con el torneo disputado del 30 de junio al 5 de julio.
En la primera ronda, venció en dos mangas al estadounidense Ian Mayew por un doble 6/2. En la segunda, le ganó al chino Tianhui Zhang por 6/3 y 6/4. En la tercera, desde la previa, le esperaba el suizo Flynn Thomas, al que venció 6/3 y 7/6. Ya en cuartos de final, se enfrentó al cabeza de serie número 3, el rumano Luca Preda. El madrileño le ganó 6/4 y 6/4. Con 8 sets a su favor y ninguno en contra, alcanzó las semifinales. Avanzó hasta la final al llevarse el penúltimo partido ante el británico Mark Ceban, que había accedido al cuadro final con una wild card (6/3 y 6/4).
En la final, nuestro jugador se enfrentaba al también británico Charlie Robertson, que venía de sufrir más que el madrileño en las semifinales, al ganar su partido en tres mangas. Jódar siguió con el buen ritmo de todo el torneo y se hizo con el trofeo en dos sets: 7/6 (7) y 6/4.
