Another popular city will introduce a tourism tax
Tengrinews.kz - A tourist tax will be introduced in Kazan from 2025.
The tax will take effect on January 1 and will amount to 1 percent of the cost of hotel accommodation, with a minimum charge of 100 rubles (about 500 tenge) per night.
"Children under 18, Heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia, combat veterans, people with disabilities, and other preferential categories are exempt from paying the tax. The tax amount is included in the room rate, and its collection applies to classified accommodations—hotels, inns, and boarding houses," stated the official Telegram channel of the Kazan Mayor's Office.
It should be noted that several other Russian cities have already decided to introduce such a tax, including Krasnodar, Perm, Petrozavodsk, Zelenogradsk, and Veliky Novgorod. Meanwhile, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, and Kaliningrad are in the process of adopting the necessary legislation.
Earlier, we reported on flights from Astana Airport, one option being flights to Kazan. More details are available here.
