British man and his wife were defrauded of half a billion in Almaty
Almaty resident Anzhela Bobyleva recorded a video statement in which she shared that in March, she and her husband, a British citizen, fell victim to fraud. According to her, they lost all their property, including three plots of land, one of which had a house. She claims that after a series of transactions involving front men, their property was sold for 380 million tenge. The total damage to the family amounts to over 500 million tenge.
"A fake buyer filed a lawsuit to evict us from our only home and won in the district court. The case is now under appeal in the city court, with the second hearing scheduled for December 11," said the victim.

According to Bobyleva, in May, they filed complaints with the police and the prosecutor's office of the Auezov district in Almaty. However, she alleges that since then, four investigators have been assigned to their case, and investigative actions have been delayed and hindered under various pretexts. Meanwhile, the suspect remained free until a face-to-face confrontation was scheduled, after which he left the country.
Almaty police reported that a criminal case has been opened by the Auezov district police department in connection with the fraud.
"A set of operational and investigative measures is being carried out to apprehend the suspects and restore the violated rights of the victim," the police stated.
